What is a Use Code? Am I supposed to enter a Use Code when I create a login?
A Use Code is an inter-governmental billing mechanism used by state government agencies such as the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, etc.  If you work at a Wisconsin Department, also known as a state agency, you must provide this information when you create a login. If you do not work for a Wisconsin Department, you will not fill in this information. For example, if you work for a County; City or any municipality; or, any private company, you would not have a Use Code.

Wisconsin Departments (state agencies) must include a Use Code when creating a login. This Use Code verifies your agency status and whether or not interdepartmental mail delivers to your location. If you do not know your Use Code, please check with your supervisor or agency accounting staff.  Document Sales and Distribution will not know the Use Code assigned by your state agency to your program area so please contact your state agency with questions or for more information before calling Document Sales and Distribution.

What if I can't find an item?
The "Search Product" feature allows you to find items by entering the SKU number or key words that might be in product name. Please note that only the Document Sales and Distribution store pages will be searched. Other websites, such as the main Legislative website, will not be searched. If you are unable to locate an item through our keyword search functionality, we encourage you to search the website of the state agency that sponsors the item.  If you still cannot locate the product, please contact us via email at DOADocumentSalesInformation@wi.gov or via telephone at 608-243-2441 or 800-362-7253.

Do state agencies offer other products?
In many cases agencies do provide publications online. These may be accessed via that state agency’s website to purchase or in some cases to download for free.
